The Santa Ana Jail tends to have the slowest release time of any jail in Orange County. Because the jail is so large, it is often overcrowded and the booking and release processes takes much longer to complete – 18 hours is often the norm!
When dealing with a jail like this, it is always important to start the bail bond process as fast as possible. At Greg Rynerson Bail Bonds, we understand you want your friend or loved one released quickly and we will do everything in our power to make that happen, whether that person is incarcerated in the Santa Ana Jail or any other detention facility in Orange County — or even anywhere else in California.
Also, please feel free to read this website for more information about the Santa Ana Jail. If you have bail bond questions that need answers right away, you can call us 24/7.

FINDING AN INMATE
The Santa Ana Jail is located next to the SAPD. It contains pre-trial arrestees from all over Orange County, sentenced inmates, and rehabilitation parolees. You can get additional information on any inmate by using the OC Sheriff’s inmate Arrest Log.
The Santa Ana City Jail receives the most federal revenue of any city jail in Los Angeles for housing immigration detainees. It is located right next door to the Santa Ana Police Department, which contracts with the county Sheriff’s Department to run it. It is a Type II facility that houses both sentenced inmates and pre-trial arrestees.
The SAJ is staffed by 130 employees. It is organized into three sections so that it can be run with maximum efficiency. First, there’s the Administration Division which handles all its contract and administrative needs. This includes inmate housing and contracts for the work they do for outside businesses. The latter earns the jail about 10 million dollars a year which is used to support it financially. The Administrative Division also oversees the budget, makes sure everything is done in accordance with the Board of Corrections penal code, and they lease with the Police Department’s Training Division. The Santa Ana Jail Administration takes care of inmate medical requirements, food and telephones services, too.
Seven Administrative Correctional Supervisors oversee the inmates on a four shift rotation, along with a Chief of Security and two cover supervisors. Three supervisors oversee the staff to make sure that they are complying with jail operations laws. This oversight is part of the SAPD’s commitment to Community Oriented Policing.
The second division, Support Services, manages jail programs, activities, and services. It is made up of four sub-sections: Records, which handles booking, identification, and inmate population records; Classification, which places inmates in housing areas, based on behavior and needs; and Grievance and Hearings Programs that attend to inmate grievances and issue disciplinary measures. Finally, the Programs Section develops and implements educational, counseling, and behavioral programs. Some of these include religious groups and general education programs.
In order to comply with the BOC, and insure both the staff and inmates’ safety, the Santa Ana Jail continuously monitors itself by auditing and inspecting their own jail practices, policies, and procedures.
Bail bonds may be posted at the Santa Ana Jail 24/7, so if you wish to bail out someone who has been arrested in Orange County, please give the experienced and licensed bondsmen at Greg Rynerson Bail Bonds a call.
